Simple Minds

sind eine 1978 in Glasgow gegründete schottische Musikgruppe und eine der erfolgreichsten Bands der 1980er und 1990er Jahre. Besonderst ihre frühen Alben zählen viele Kritiker zu den interessantesten Veröffentlichungen der 1980er Jahre. Mitte der 1980er und der frühen 1990er Jahre platzierten sie fünf Nummer 1 LP's und eine Nummer 1 Single in den U.K. Charts und eine Nummer 1 Single in den U.S. Charts.
Die Gruppe hat seit 1979 Alben in zweistelliger Millionenhöhe verkauft.

Die Gründungsmitglieder Sänger Jim Kerr und Gitarrist Charlie Burchill, sowie Schlagzeuger Mel Gaynor und Bassist Eddie Duffy bilden die aktuelle Besetzung der Band.
