Marla Glen
(* 3. Januar 1960 in Chicago) ist eine US-amerikanische Sängerin. Seit 1998 lebt sie in Deutschland.




Marla Glen eroberte den europäischen Musikmarkt mit ihrem Album This is Marla Glen von 1993. Die Folgealben konnten an den großen Erfolg nicht mehr anschließen.

Marla Glens Musik vereinigt Elemente aus Blues, Soul, Jazz, Rock ’n’ Roll und afrikanischer Ethno-Musik und wird von ihrer rauchigen, sehr maskulinen Stimme dominiert. Ihre Texte sind stark politisch und plädieren für eine bessere Welt. Bei Auftritten unterstreicht sie ihre maskuline Erscheinung durch ihre Kleidung (Nadelstreifenanzug, Herrenhut, Krawatte und Zigarre). Am 2. Juli 2004 ging sie in Heilbronn eine lesbische Lebenspartnerschaft ein.
